Learn to Swim Stage 1-6 Awards

The Swim England Learn to Swim Program is the leading nationally recognised teaching syllabus.

The Learn to Swim Stage 1-6 Awards are divided into progressive stages. They make up the core, national syllabus of learning to swim for primary school aged children.

They are designed to reward your child for the development of the essential aquatic skills they need to be confident, competent and safe in the water.

Each of the Learn to Swim Stage 1-6 Awards has a list of clear outcomes that need to be completed to gain each Award.

As the lessons progress the swimming teacher will record progress made against the outcomes required for each Stage. When a swimmer can complete all the outcomes consistently they will be rewarded with a badge and certificate.

"Please note the following information:

At our West Gates School pool, the school owner assesses the children once a month to keep parents updated on their progress. In addition to this, our teachers provide continuous assessment.

At our Countesthorpe pool, our teachers observe the children weekly to track their progress, allowing both the child and parent to see their development.

Certificates and badges can be purchased at both venues."
